In amidst a melody block to beat the band, a hitch as real as cinderblock it’d seem, I keep on playin’ the same melody over n over for days… but it doesn’t work with this lyric, so for fun, who’s got some chords, some changes and a beat? Not u Micko, I jus can’t see this ditty with mandy & fiddle..or maybe mandy, ..or banjo. I don’know, ……..I’m salad. It’s soup, the lyric, give or take a revision 4sake of beat or stream-o or to trim sibilance.
Unhinged Lyric seeks Melody for mutual involvement in imaginary songwriting venture. The lyric is real but the intent is only a dramatization, as yet. Melody: kinda Oz buskerdo, beachcomber-reggae, acoustic hard rock, world beat, ….aw fuggit…wit mandy & banjo, but no squeezebox…heheh, for 2nd guitar & lyric baritone vocal accompaniment and whatever else instrumentation/voice. Mid-tempo • lively • pick a key (avoid the minors, please, this ain’t a dirge or a Radiohead song; it’s a song of hope, yeah hope Mick, that’s “nope” with a hard-on. See, y’ take yer “n” and rub it out a woody, carefully, and poing…ye got an “h”)
One little ditty
entitled to be titled…
(no, not turtled: titled)
“Lick My Leukemia”

Lick My Leukemia
lyric by messybear brook
Standing courtside havin’ worked up a heady sweat
Outdoors and in the sunshine, where we love to play
No more perfect case in point; we stand together smilin’
Said, “Maybe we’re happier than too many others today?”
On the drive home, a way down citified … countryside roads
We talk of our plan for the room addition and a new refrigerator
It’s hot but not as hot as summer, …bottled water from a cooler
And our moments rule as we burn fuel along another good day
[Chorus] n …
You said, “Help me, Love, to lick my Leukemia
No, so much tougher than when I had anemia
With our love I believe I can see me up and
Walkin’ hand-in-hand …there with you again.”
When we get home to see the kids and take a long shower,
Like we’ve done for years (you always like to say, Flowerpower,
How a couple that showers 2gether stays in harmony), you begin to
Get undressed while I find oil & listen to the landline voicemails
..Midwife sent a message, pounces like a portent of menace:
All blood counts are low, y’ know you got to call me, Shelby!
The circumstances look poor, no, you got’a see a specialist
Could be B vitamins, or it could be something scarier.
[Chorus]
(((( [Bridge]
Come on, …my best friend & lover
For all the sisters & for all the brothers
Gona take a while..but you can persevere it
Love song inside o you so true the cure can hear it ))))
Come Monday morning, we hold each other ......... in a dire cue
A room designed with art (in mind) for some to receive the bad news
The rug is yanked out, our poor huddled mile there ……. as we bear
The fear & shock together ~~ what happened to the perfect weather?
Now learned Doctors, heartfelt Nurses, hopeful notions bed & bedside,
Rule the moment like a chronic dream that reverberates while you abide
As one day Godspeed the next, protocol becomes the test; your love,
our love, Oh Perseverant mindset, withstand the bitter pill you face.
[Chorus w/melismatic variation maybe]
You say, …
