I'm a few episodes behind this season, but I'm glad they're going out before they get too stale.

I love this show, not for it's worn-on-the-sleeve politics, but for the passion that the characters have for their beliefs, and the way the show is completely unafraid to go over the top. Denny Crane would certainly be doing hard time in the real world, but as a foil for Alan--just superb.

As a weird side note, I'm reading a book about Kit Carson. At one point in time Carson had a couple of Delaware Indians in an exploration party--one was named Denny, the other Crane, and both were killed in an ambush by another tribe.
