FDR did it right when we needed a powerfully economically minded president. But he was weak minded. He made all kinds of mistakes at a critical time. And the depression dragged on for much longer than it should have. Just as Obama will do in our current scenario.I'm not saying I want more of the same GW bullshit (because it is too), as you pointed out, many on this board had better foresight than us, but they are still wrong (woefully)and Obama is not the answer either and we've all been forced into a bad choice. What you'll be voting for though is pure, unadulterated socialism. Those that work will pay for those that don't. Like Obama, you are showing your lack of understanding of economics. The ones who will be punished by a democratic administration will be the ones that actually are forced to pay for their programs (the only ones that actually produce). Name just one administration of government that was actually ever profitable. I'll bet you can't. Government does not belong in private enterprise. They'll just fuck it up and they'll fuck it up big time. I assume you've been watching their actions for the past couple of months? You can't just steal money from the workers and give to the non-workers without a complete loss of incentive, because the smartest (and I'm not talking about wall st. types) will figure out the best ways to get on the government dole themselves and just quit working for the government and let government take care of them. But then who pays? Do we just keep printing our fiat (IOU) money at that point? I don't think so.We just watched (no, allowed) our government to enslave us, our children and grandchildren for life by bailing out the HBB (humongous banks and brokers...their pals) that got us into this mess to begin with. And I'm not making apologies for either party here, they all need to be taken out to the woodshed. They are all morons. In fact, we need a total Washington washout, but Obama's rhetoric is not it clearly, and Nancy Pelosi is a complete idiot too. She is clueless. Lot's of people (like me) are pissed as hell.After pouring literally billions of liquidity back into the system (at the expense of taxpayers like me) the market is still frozen and after bailing out a bunch of crooks that bled literally trillions of dollars out of our government mandated 401k plans guess what your new found saviour party is considering now? uhhuh...any tax savings you ever got from that 401k is going to stop and the democratic party will mandate that they are now in control of your retirement funds.
