Well, I did enjoy that Eagles release, and still do, but I mainly want to mention here that Jackson Browne's two acoustic releases are pretty durn good! (I suppose they don't count, since they're just acoustics going over old material.)Browne's "The Naked Ride Home" certainly left me wondering where the man had been spending his songwriting time.I'm iffy on whether I'll buy the new one, mainly because I'm tired of picking up sleepy-sounding releases from artists who used to provide a mix of powerful sounds and gentle ones . . . I want songs that rock, with heavy-hitting lyrics and a high value placed on instrumentation and arrangements. And then maybe a quiet one or two mixed in there. Jackson Browne's most recent one to make me feel I'd gotten my "order" was "Looking East."The one exception to this desire would be David Gilmour's most recent solo album, "On An Island," which is nearly all "quiet," to the point of putting me to sleep, but in a good way! Great album.Say what you will about the Eagles "Long Road," at least there is a texture with peaks and valleys woven throughout that record; it's not just a bunch of mellowness making me want to hit the hay.Herring405
