Having watched the episode again, maybe I’m the only one who feels this way but maybe not: John Fund? John fucking Fund? Somebody should write a parody and cast Wallace Shawn (at his most sardonic) to play the part. Nah, …I can’t even have a sense of humor about it. As a pundit full of self-importance and “his team, love it or leave it,” he’s like a high traffic billboard with the cheek to actually be touting the bullshit that he and his ilk take great pride in laying on everybody, everyday, for sake of the political machine uber alles. If you can recognize that RIGHT there in the clarified broth and still call it good soup for the soul then you are of the tainted seasoning, the very aggravating flecks of flavor, that spoil what could have been for years a fine repast for everyone here at this whacko worldwide diner table of people. People with little or NO OTHER choice but to drop way out or expire or dine with Reg’s rat fuckers or while away in songs & blogs. Not one of those ideal options. But it is clear which option you (who the shoe fits) have & will choose. Jeez! All through history, people have chose to dine. To follow and call it the lead. To plunder and call it fiscal conservatism. & it’s not really democrat or republican (although it is certainly more Republican today), it is dominion. Do-min-ion. The business of dominion. & I have to figure that’s why all of us are forced to repeat the hailstorms of history over and over again. And it’s why financial crashes like this one can be predicted with some accuracy for decades prior to reality crashing down. It’s not about supernatural prognostication, it’s just logic.
The happy hierarchies of hobnob & their fan base. Fatheaded hard plastic heads popping up through holes in fabricated landscapes, rubber mallets slamming down, one, blam, two, blam-blam, and to no effect. The gears just keep on meshing, wheels keep on turn-turning there under the skirting that protects the virgin-eye from the machinations, and the lights flicker to draw attentions and the bells toll sing-song melodies with the painted-on faces continuously bobbing up and down on oscillator cams, out & in, bonk, in & out, bonk, bonk, forever recognizing NOTHING of the benevolence & splendor of this Earth blessed life unless it’s attached to the brokering of some hush inside deal or an earmark or, far worse, the mere gratification of being able to tout ones rah-rah-sis-boom-bah team of politicians and bark the bark. & now that the across-the-board “changes” are shock & awe smacking those-whom-the-shoe-fits right in the face, now that the money issue is abundantly clarifying the broth, suddenly lines are being crossed here in the cosmic soup; no it doesn’t have anything to do with benevolence and other issues of humanity, but the almighty buck (shot to hell), and cool, I suppose, if that’s what it takes. Probably it’s going to take a lot more though, a whole helovalot more with cats like John Fund.
Without intending to, though, Pundit Man made a great case about just how truly absurd the present state of The Machine is. It is neon lighting up a moonless midnight obvious. & in the video, everytime Ms. Garafalo catches him on a comment, he grins that wholly smackable grin and tosses in another bit of balderdash, without remorse he munches on grit and spits out shit, all the while calling it the game they play. It demonstrates a great deal about this “cultural war,” this “pundit politics,” this “rah-rah-sis-boom-bahhhg” endless downward spiral argument-from-hell that keeps us conveniently under the thumb, tense & guarded. All along knowing (there deep in our consciences) that it NEVER HAD TO BE THIS WAY !!
Trivia; from just a few years ago:
Morgan Pillsbury has accused conservative pundit John Fund of sitting on her and choking her, but she and her mother can still praise his rhetorical skills. "This guy is persuasive," said her mother, Melinda Pillsbury-Foster, in an interview last week. "He gets you on the phone and you believe him. He says, 'You know I wouldn't lie.'"
"He's such a good liar," Pillsbury added, "he could walk in right now and he could convince me in five minutes he never hit me. He is the best liar I've ever seen."
