I don't know how any of you feel about Sam Phillips (the female LA singer/songwriter and not the Sun Records founder with the squirrel on his head) but I saw her play on Saturday and man, was she good.

She had the most amazing drummer, Jay Bellerose. He was a show unto himself. The only other percussionist I've seen who could add a sideshow to the person he was backing was Ray Cooper.
