I think Mccain was doing a decent job (both candidates actually) of not getting bitterly partisan (and personal) before the convention. I have a sense that around the time of the convention - the RNC crew of Rove and co. stepped in. And the latest ad from Mccain about Obama's education record is (so far) the worst yet. The ad is pretty disgusting.Dan
