I agree, Dan. …At this point I wouldn’t vote for Duke McC with my my brother’s X in the box, but I also wouldn’t try to analyze his method of survival under the most horrendous conditions imaginable while in residence at Hanoi Hilton or wherever the heck. People who go to college or only high school and then leave for bootcamp, of one sort or another, become a card-carrying something that is very in-the-moment real for what is probably in many ways a terribly false idea; and they do so with an amazing amount of selflessness in most cases (not all, some just want to f*ck sh*t up). They do it alone and if they go to war (for whomever’s interests), they do that alone, & if they get captured by sadists with the cover of impunity and face horrors galore (unimaginable before the MPAA film rating system opened the floodgates for stimulus overload), well, brother, …they do that alone too. While those who wrote the articles of the UCMJ sit in boardrooms with 12-year-old scotch (or 12-year-olds) and well-maintained graphs designed by the council of war [grimace]. I’d be willing to imagine he held-out longer than a lot of us would have, and therefore give him the benefit of the doubt. But it’s a personal choice. I will become doubly disillusioned the moment I know for a fact that he has won the election (if applicable), but I won’t give that article [not even] one more thought.

It’s no way to pick a President. This is not in any way an attack on the messenger. NO doubt in my mind he’s the frontman for a monster pack of deceptions that only serve to stagger the many for sake of the few. When our highest-ranking leaders have become for the most part no more than well-dressed & stylish beggars with eyes on the pot-o-gold, where do the people go to gather logical ideas & human recourse to injustices of every sort? I don’t know anymore. We’re all digging for truths and consequences, no?
