(big changes imminent) have me more on edge than usual.
These are the days where THAT kinda sentiment is easy to comprehend. Listen to the screams. Thanks to our Weightiest and Greatiest movers & shakers of this country: Legislators, Bankers, Insurerers, Big thisers and Big thatters; …swell bunch of greedy funlovin f^cksticks on the take, on the make, on the rake, …head-faking all the way from boardroom to backroom to brokerage to offshore bank accounts with play-ball impunity.
My income is based on repeat customers in a small-potatoes service industry. Which means as prices go up on everything, clientele get nervous, plus I’ve had to increase 10% on my fee. Not that big o deal, really ~ I’m no great money earner anyway (I do my best ... & wear a lota hats).
But my bride, she’s in big sales. (Yeah, Mick, you could say sugar-mama.) & big sales are down. So the big tomato on her vine has taken a big walk around the building with a chipped platinum battle-ax. Those tenured veterans who scoffed at demands of hefty pay-cuts were simply let go … no muss, no fuss, as if they meant nothing (after 15 or more years of service). Those veterans (like my wife) willing to take a pay cut were reminded how welcome (aboard) & appreciated they are … and sent back in to battle another day. The Big Dog, on the other hand, (pissing & moaning about his quality of life) makes quarterly trips to his second home in Hawaii, along with business trips to FLA, SoCal, and overseas … all year long. It’s his company, so good, enjoy the fruits of your labors, I say, but when revenues are down, that percentage should reflect EVERYONE across the board, starting with oh captain, my captain. Creating more incentive to make things right. Right now, everything’s ass-backwards from the SOB presidential nightmare & his posse on knob hill … on down.
These are definitely not the better times ~~ although they could be if not for some backwards f^cked-up prioritizing amongst the most affluent. There are good moments to be had in an inspired lifetime, but all-in-all the state of affairs is horrendous. Not according to the wingnutted, though (who don’t get any credit for being intelligent anymore). When costs are sky-high and rising … and people are getting axed for not accepting pay cuts! … then no amount of media jingo-jangle is going to convince anyone paying attention that things are A-okay in the US and would be even better if not for those pesky libs. It's just not true.
To the rest of you, my apologies for getting down in the mud. Nothing substantial can be gained.
When there’s mud all around you, it’s hard not to get down in it. As far as I’m concerned: No apologies necessary.
