But I wonder why people don't just pay up the 5 bucks that the local humane society charges to get their cats fixed?"A lot of people out in the country want a lot of cats running in their barn, for the obvious reason of pest control. After a few generations, catching the cats to take them in for "fixing" is . . . a LOT of trouble, so I think many just don't want to go through it.I have just taken in two barn cats to be garage cats here at Casa Herring. They are NUTS! Always finding the most hilarious places to sleep (and not-so-hilarious places to defecate). I grew up in a place where we kept at least a dozen cats in the barn at all times, so I have missed having cats.Then again, I did not miss that cat urine smell. Yuck. These guys better catch their weight in mice! :)(BTW--they'll be fixed the moment they're old enough.)Herring405
