from the BBC today, Barack Obama said, "I'll make a windfall tax to Exxon-Mobil and other oil companies and provide $1000 of relief to 95% of working families."
So let's analyze, with fuel prices currently high (and not getting any lower in a windfall environment), and . . .
With a lot of people's extra disposable income going toward fuel, and . . .
With the autocrat-nationalized oil companies controlling a much larger share of oil than the private majors . . .
Where does Barack Obama think the majority of that windfall money will go? How is his proposal any different than the pandering of Hillary Clinton and John McCain's gas tax holiday? How would this be anything different from a massive transfer of wealth from Exxon-Mobil investors to folks like the Saudi royal family and Hugo Chavez?
I like the long clip that was posted earlier, too. But it's hard for me to see how today's very specific statement is any kind of leadership. More like inexperience and pandering.
