http://drop.io/Cowan_Scott Here's a mini concert...Last night I got to see a rare show in which John Cowan & Darrell Scott joined forces with the help of Reese Wynans ( Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble ), Billy Thomas ( Emmylou Harris' Hot Band ) and Tom Britt ( Vince Gill ).It was pretty awesome. They traded off on some of their staple tunes but also crossed into different territory with some old R&B tunes, an SRV cover and a Tom Britt tune which was very Jeff Beck/Sonny Landreth oriented."River Take Me" was highlight and lasted about 27 minutes.The recording of "Dark As A Dungeon" (Merle Travis, 1957) presented here
was recorded by yours truly at my favorite little listening room. The volume on that one is a bit low.I had two people say to me that Darrell seemed to be channeling Lowell George last night.
