I'll defer to the "real" musicians here for a more studied answer, but I thought I'd offer my own experience.I'm right-handed, far more dextrous with the right hand than with the left. I mainly chug chords on the guitar, which I could quite readily do with my left hand, if only I'd bought & practiced on a lefty guitar back in the long ago. Do you see where I'm headed with this?Occasionally, unsatisfied with my musical skills, I've hit upon the thought that I should have started out with a guitar that would have my right hand fingering the frets instead of picking. So, in my non-professional, semi-unskilled opinion, your son may be onto something. If he's a lefty & wants to play righty guitar, perhaps he feels the need to work those frets more than pluck those strings.Again, I'll defer to the ones here who really know what they're talking about.Herring405
