I still like the portability of a 16", and it's a lot better for working in close quarters. The center of gravity stays in your hands, and if you need to make a wider sweeping motion (say, for example, that your "target" is moving away from you) it's got a lot more control.Plus it has the advantage of fitting in a viola case and sneaking through TSA at the airport. Try that with a 6 footer.
