When discussing affirmative action, all too often, talk centers upon "goodies" being provided to minorities. Affirmative action for the wealthy is often invisible, because it's simply taken for granted. An old friend of my dad went to Bowdoin College back in the early 50's. Four of his five kids subsequently went there, and a granddaughter just graduated. I can't imagine that all of these people would have gained admittance to such a prestigious institution were it not for the "legacy" factor. Isn't this how Bush got into Yale, and Harvard Business School? I believe that affirmative action is a small price to pay. I'm not saying that it should continue forever, but for the foreseeable future, it seems to me to be a reasonable policy.
