Hey, I agree with you and Cass. I think Gore getting pulled into this is about as likely as all of us buying a winning lottery ticket on the same day. I like it because it's an open shot across the Clintons bow and what's not to like about that? It sort of says to them "If you try to turn this into a pig fight at the convention we can move in a different direction." and this is what the Clintons want, a pig fight at the convention. I think the Democrats are very nervous about this whole situation and they will back Obama unless there is a very clear reason not to. I think they are letting the Clinton crap continue because they are very open to somebody giving them a good reason not to back him though. They certainly don't want to piss off black voters this is very obvious. So, at this point it's Obama unless he can be so damaged he becomes a liability. They are letting the Clintons attempt this it appears. I think if McCain appeared to be a stronger opponent they may be a bit more interested in stepping in but McCain looks like he is very beatable. So, the Clintons have been allowed to smear away.

McCain looks like he'll run a one note campaign and the RNC will do the dirty work for him. The Clintons are just playing bully, which is what they do best, and very likely because, as the article Cass posted states, "the Clintons are the Democratic Party" they feel there can be no election held without them. So, their case will be "they belong on the ticket" one way or another...if not president, then vice president where they will assume the Cheney mantel and "run the world" from the VP spot with Obama as their black figurehead.
