In a tolerable situation ~~ not even an ideal one ~~ you should never have to share those lousy sentiments of mine. & yet, here we are in a 21st Century where you can…and do. So I’m glad to be in good company, but also bereft for your [our] loss of what might have once been a truly ideal American Citizenship ~~ or the living potential of it. Now I wonder anymore if any citizenship protected under ANY Constitution was EVER the better choice (for we, the people) over tribal interconnectedness. The sweat, the circle, the drum. I don’t know, I suppose we’ll never know; the flag waved higher than any other totem. Now you can’t see the totem pole or Old Glory for the four-stories of casino noise and the pomp & circumstance of a few billionaires and their heirs. I read a little about that power outage, A. Yikes. Ten years ago that woulda gone over like a walk in the park: Hey, somebody’ll fix it, no sweat. Nowadays it feels like a rehearsal for something. ……………..Aw…jee-wiz, Wally!?
