What browser are you using (name and version)? Do you see the editing toolbar when you're composing your messages? If you do, indeed, have the toolbar - than a shift-return will give you a single space return while return alone will give you a double space return. If you don't have the toolbar - then you're stuck with the double space return. This is a function of the browser - and not the OS. Either way - your posts look fine to me.
