David, I couldn't agree more. This "saving the Iraqis" is a smokescreen for the real agenda, which is just about 100% motivated by economics. I agree with others that Saddam is a megalomaniacal asshole that should probably be put to sleep, but that is nearly a side issue. And as for the fabled Weapons of Mass Destruction....SHOW ME. Not but tiny shards of evidence. They STILL can't find the cache. You mean they're that well hidden? NO WAY.
And as for using the oil reserves to "finance" the war...I mean doesn't that notion just rub salt in the wound if you're opposed to the war in the first place, and if you support the war doesn't that just serve to PROVE what I said above?
BTW..this war has already cost over 10 BILLION dollars, and I assume the final "tab" will be probably twice that. We could probably wipe out HUNGER in THIS country (that's right, hunger right here in the USA) for a fraction of that for the next 100 years, not to mention hunger in other nations for a fraction of that cost. Just something to think about. And I'm supposed to be on Spring Break and not posting so much, but this thing has really got me irritated. Sorry for the rant.
Gene
