A big movie weekend, and I want to recommend this one. Based on the book by the editor of Elle
magazine who, at the age of 43, had a stroke that left him only able to communicate by blinking his
one good eye. Sounds terribly inspirational/ maudlin on paper but it's really pulled off well by its cast
and director Julian Schnabel.
This is the best movie I've seen recently, including There Will be Blood. And the soundtrack
includes
Tom Waits, Velvet Underground, and Joe Strummer!
