No one but no one plays like Lindsey, and at this point, it's his sound that defines the band. I don't know if it's just me getting old or what, but there are a handful of moments on this record where I'll hear him play a lick and just have to close my eyes and smile. Kinda similar to hearing the opening notes to "Gaslighting Abbie" from the last Steely Dan album.
I do miss Christine, though. Much as I like these songs, and find the production on the whole far less obnoxious than, say, Tango In The Night, I'd sure love to hear her dulcet tones on this record.
