Well Pat, in a word 'yes'. Not greatly better, not inspiringly better, not likely to get us out of the colossal hole we've dug ourselves, but better... far better than the Republican/Christian Conservative/ Neo-con cabal that has been running the show (and running the country off the rails) for the past seven years.

Romney and Giuliani are charlatans and cynical opportunists, who will say and do anything, shift any position, re-write any personal history or belief for power. McCain is borderline senile and Huckabee is only surging because the other candidates are so pathetically uninspiring. Huckabee is just another empty suit. Ron Paul, the only candidate that espouses any ideas not blenderized for the Christian Coalition is saddled with a philosophy that didn't even work in the nineteenth century, let alone the twenty-first.
