Basically an updating of the "Rear Window" premise brought to date by an ankle braclet imposed by a judge, this kid has nothing to do but take up spying on his neighborhood until he discovers things goin' on...
David Morse, as messy pointed out, has a vast array of abilities in the acting department, imho. In the bonus material they talked about how he gets into his character, in this case he would not even be friendly with the star, off screen, because he didn't want to "like" the guy while playing his role.
