But what of the smorgasbord the remainder of the wildlife will enjoy? Is no one thinking of the rodents, and flying rodents and other scavengers who will benefit grandly. (must be snob predjudice)

Seriously, people need to get a life, protesting nonsense like this, they'll breed more, without mans assistance or the problem wouldn't exist presently.

We have had a similarly humorous situation up our way in recent years, and naturally there are stories of this sort of mad(as in madness) out cry all over America. We have this lovely(Olmstead did the landscaping) former family estate(Vanderbilt/Webb) that has been salvaged by turning it into a non profit, now dedicated to sustainable agriculture. Paul & Joanne stay at the Inn periodically.

Long story short, the protected deer on the property were/are eating all the saplings. Meaning the forests areas of the Farm are not sustainable. Meaning, when the Farm management made the rational decision of having a bow hunt, and thereby culling the herd, they were protested by PETA and other environmental extremists who purport to support the principles of sustainability. (anything for attention)

Suffice it that the hunts, of necessity, still occur but are not advertised.

Poor Flicka my arse. For the non Americans herein, poor Black Beauty my arse.

Once again proving affluence leads to an overactive fantasy life which bleeds over from the reel world.

OH! And as to the term 'humane', these creatures are not human and there is no way to make any wild or domesticated(excepting man) creature happy about killing it. Horses and deer ARE NOT human you flippin fantasy bond freaks, otherwise we could manipulate 'em with television like we do people, D'oh.
