As much as I hate to say it, this is not a bad album. Some of it is a bit forced, like they're trying to sound like the Eagles and not be the Eagles, but there are some decent songs even though many sound like they're from "Eagles Greatest Hits Vol 1" or Henley's "End of the Innocence".In looking at the credits, there are more outside songwriters than ever before on an Eagles or solo album. The usual cast of the band members, JD Souther and Jack Tempchin appear, along with guys like Paul Carrack (who Tim Schmit worked with a few years back and cowrote one of the ballads on Hell Freezes Over) and Steuart Smith (who is their touring guitarist), along with a few others. The distribution model is worth watching, as it's going to put another big hurt on the major labels and how they do business.
