I was a junior in High School in Miss Hornes class when I heard of the crash of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Gone were 2 of the most talented in the group being Steve Gaines and Ronnie Van Zant.
Just listened 2 nights ago to Street Survivors and it sounds as fresh today as it did 30 years ago.
What would have happened had they lived? I will say this, they would have put out 2 maybe 3 more great albums. I saw the Rossington Collins band I think in 1980 and they flat out rocked. What they have for a band now pales having lost Allen Collins, Leon Wilkenson and they did Ed King(who wrote SH Alabama) wrong so he left the group. One thing Ed wrote about Ronnie was that he never wrote down lyrics, ever. Never saw them in concert so if you did feel free to share. ( Actually I did see the 1987 rendition with Johnnie VZ but I don't count that)
