Maybe I'm older than you but I remember when people taking action, either directly or symbolically, resulted in the Civil Rights Act and the end of the Vietnam war. The United Nations, the US Army, and US corporations did not give black Americans the right to vote, and they did not end the war.

Not to say that clogging Chevron's phone lines for a few hours tomorrow is going to cause the mass resignation of the Burmese junta, but you need to start somewhere.

Why Chevron? Because they're here. They're ours- an American corporation- and we can exert more influence over American stockholders than we can the Chinese government.... for now. You have to start somewhere, and your own backyard is as good a place to start as any.
