Andrea: I'll have to look around & see if I could get behind that. (Not that it probably matters--just saying I hadn't thought about Kucinik/Paul.)

Kravitz: You are probably at least 98% correct that no one other than the usual rogues gallery is likely even to have a shot, but I've been listening to Ron Paul just lately, and I like the cut of his gib.

I am not saying that I support his every position, but he is the first voice I've heard in quite some time to go out on a limb for The Constitution. I'm for that.

So when the moderator (more of an IMmoderator) of the debate this week asked him about his stance on getting out of Iraq by saying, "So you'd take your marching orders from Al Qaeda, giving them just what they want!" or words to that effect, Ron Paul replying "NO, I take my marching orders from the Constitution!" struck the right note with me.

Fact is, I am not sure that any of the other candidates (and indeed any of the presidents of the past century) have ever read the constitution, let alone made following it an upfront issue in their campaign.

There appears to be a pretty decent virtual groundswell of online support for this guy, and from what I've read, he's a bit of a political miracle --unseating incumbents three times? So maybe there is cause for hope that the next election is not already a fait accompli.

So what do you think of the following slogans?

"Ron Paul for President: He takes his marching orders from the Constitution!"

"We need someone new in the oval office. --Someone who is not afraid of old ideas."
