Popped into Barnes & Noble yesterday, a fairly infrequent occurrence as we have some pretty great independent book shops hereabouts, new & used.

Anyhow, in the used book section of B&N I found, Tom Horn, the autobiography, "written by himself".

Now if you don't recall the Steve McQueen movie Tom Horn, go rent it. When we were passing through Cheyenne a few years back we stopped into the state house and saw Mr Horns memorial, I think it was on the second floor, perhaps third.

He wrote the book during his nearly two years in jail, and it's not about his travails but rather a very readable autobiography of his lifetime, 1860-1904. For a man who indicates he didn't get much of a formal education, his writing is engaging and concise.

And it only cost me a buck, too cool!

peaceably
