I lived in New Paltz while a Music Therapy student at SUNY New Paltz back in the late 70s. It had one of the most creative music departments in the country. Several artists who lived close by in Woodstock and the surrounding area would perform at SUNY as a preview before taking their gig to the city; about an hour south.
