If you can't find Black Rose, I'll burn it for ya', granted off my vinyl, but there's a few tunes on there, I am certain you will love. JD Souther did worship Roy Orbison and wrote the tune You're Only Lonely as a tribute to Roy. (probably lifting it from Only the Lonely).
There's a couple of tunes he did only when he was with Souther-Hillman-Furay Band that really stand out as well. He wrote and co-sang the song Used to be Her Town with James Taylor....maybe you recall that one.
To my knowledge, he isn't involved with music at all anymore, but did have some acting roles in the 80's and 90's. I remember seeing him on some TV series (don't recall which....) back in the late 80's and he was rather excellent as an actor...complete natural.
