Anybody seen this movie?
I'm a little behind on my Brazilian movie schedule, but yesterday I watched "Cidade de Deus" (2002) for the first time. Wow. A truly brilliant and disturbing Brazilian movie. Just when you thought one disturbing scene couldn't get any more... well disturbing, then ...
Earlier, we talked about another good movie "Blood Diamond" and disturbing scenes with child soldiers. In the same vein, I urge you all to take a look at "City of God" and see what you get when you supply (via the corrupt police, of course) a bunch of coke-snorting, slum dwelling, no-future, 5-15 year olds with revolvers that would make "Dirty Harry" envious.
It makes me want to send all my money to Brazil.
And that's what movies are all about.
