Just returned after 4 days away in Perth. Glad to be home, but a big storm got here just before we did - trees and branches strewn everywhere. Thankfully all of the cows are still where they should be (in spite of broken fences) and Tigger is safe and well (knew you'd want to know that, Gene).

The highlight of our trip away was buying CD's - ended up with 11 I think. Listened to some in the car, including the new Crowded House, Mark Seymour (who was in Perth while we were, but we couldn't go as the girls weren't allowed in the venue) and James Reyne. I was driving through heavy rain and strong winds when a familiar song came on - it was 'The Postman' by our very own DB - sung by James Reyne. It instantly lifted my day! Nice version - you'll have to listen, big@l.

Went to the football yesterday - the Dockers beat Carlton by 77 points, so it was a good result. We had seats in a corporate box, with a waitress and all food and drinks supplied. Didn't enjoy it nearly as much as being amongst the crowd - seemed more focussed on the off-field entertainment and getting blotto - not our thing. Saw 'Shrek the 3rd' last night - the girls enjoyed it.

So that was my 43rd birthday weekend...
