MY brother received the newly packaged Traveling Wilburys 2CD/1DVD set for Father's Day. He lent it to me today and I watched the DVD earlier tonight. It is short, just under a half hour long without the music videos, and clearly taken off VHS from the time of the first album, but it gives an amazing fly on the wall look at how they recorded that great first album. Seeing Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne standing next to each other, all harmonising and playing acoustic is pretty amazing. To me anyway. They recorded all the guitar bits in the kitchen of the house they were in as the "studio" was too tiny. Jim Keltner played the drum (or rather, rhythm) tracks to some songs banging on the shelves in a fridge!Amazing stuff.
