A friend gave me a collection of songs by the young Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice. I can't recommend this young man and his small group highly enough. He just finished a short music film which is or will soon be available through some kind of new music program on AOL. I'm sure every visitor to this page will love this music.
Regarding the National Reviewer's war optimism, I wonder how he'll maintain it while a street-to-street battle throughout Baghdad (a city the size of Los Angeles) rages, and how he will justify the tragedies, horror, and suffering our young men and women there will experience. (And inflict.) Not to mention the bankruptcy of our cities, states, and social networks. Not to mention a myriad of catastrophes that I don't have the time to even begin to list. (Crime at home, more foreign terror, decreased international investment in the US, double-dip recession, etc, etc, etc...) Anyway, off to work for me. Thank you, Buford, for giving me the first belly laugh I've had in weeks. You should do a one-man show. You'd pack the houses.
yrs,
David
