John Jorgenson...oh yeah..that man is a phenom.  I first got into his music back in around 1988 when he played with the Desert Rose Band.  They played an outdoor gig at some small town in NC just after the release of their 2nd album, and I was just thrilled to see them.  After, they had a table set up and signed the LP's  and CD's.  I got to meet Chris Hillman, John and the other band members and they signed my LP jacket (yippee).   John was really a very quiet, withdrawn guy, but he kinda perked up when I mentioned the clarinet because it was one of my first instruments.  I didn't know at the time that he was an absolute clarinet monster (comparisons to Benny Goodman are not out of line), and he recommended that I seek out an earlier solo album that he did entitled After You've Gone; I'd recommend you  buy it, if you don't have it already.  It consists of him "playing with himself" (heh heh).  He plays gypsy style guitar and then solos clarinet on top of that.  Virtuoso playing of both instruments.   He told me that he also played Bassoon and was state champion of some sort on Bassoon during High School (but that is just another aside in the life of the amazing JJ).   He could probably play a clam shell and make it sound incredible.   He does play other instruments...I don't recall his entire arsenal.

I think you must like the twang stuff of his,  so do seek out the Hellecasters..but you've probably heard 'em??

He is probably one of the most versatile musicians I have ever heard, since he excels at so many styles, and on multiple instruments.

Gypsy style...not one of my favorite forms of music, but my pick of the litter there is Bireli Lagrene.  I think he was born with a guitar in his mouth.
