I have to say at this point if I walked into a bookshop I'd find quite a few interpretations of your quote in different bibles and we could sit for hours and compare. Ultimately you choose your version of the Bible as it ahs been amended and warped to suit your Christian cult (Baptist, Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, Catholic, C of E, Methodist, etc) all with their own version of the event itself and each slightly warped to accommodate its readership. Had I the time and inclination I'd prove it.
