Is it me, or has anyone noticed how the media coverage of the invasion of Iraq resembles that of a video game and sporting event? On CNN they have graphics that described each piece of equipment and hardware used by our soliders. They even spin around like when linemen are introduced in the graphics on Monday Night Football. Then the advertising for the electronic media brags of who has the most retired military personnel to tell us what is going on. To top it off they are turning news repeaters into Hollywood type stars. One on FoxNews even remarked on one blast, "it's beautiful, isn't it?" Personally, I'd like to see a little more humility. These are grave times and portraying this war like it is some sort of sporting event is troubling.
