Shouldn't Browne probably be spelled Brown?  Perhaps his birth name was spelled Brown, and he changed it to the preppier spelling to reflect his own tightened sphincter control.

Sorry, I do like the man's music, (and continue to buy his recordings) but certainly NOT the man, and I have met him.  Totally self-consumed, narcissistic asshole.  A complete personality infarct. Darryl, and possibly most of his "exes" are better off without him in their lives. 

On the other hand, Joni, from what I have gleaned gestalt-wise, is no picnic either.  She has also gone from man to man; perhaps Jackson is her perfect male counterpart.  And when you talk about self-consumed...oy vay...this girl takes the cake!  But..I do love her music also, and continue to do so, except for that one shameful episode where she toured the land with an orchestra, trying to imitate the great black jazz divas of our time.   She has a great jazz voice herself...why the Ella faking???
