Hello PKJenson:)

Frankly, I am not all that familiar with Mr Havel. So, it's really up in the air as to whether I would want to be associated with, or supportive of, him.

I agree with him insofar, and thus the post, that he recognizes this global warming mania is about consolidation of political power. Otherwise, a Whack-Job he may be, and I'd love to hear any honest conviction(knowledgable, or otherwise(I don't mind sifting some)).

I have already covered the why's, ideologically and scientifically, of my disagreements with the prevailing 'Man Made' song and dance everybody is hummin'. That being said, I would like to add one detail: during the past 9 years, the USG has spent, at least, $18 billion in supporting those who wish to prove global warming. (The USG put out a report, CCSP, I think; I can't find the link right off, BUT, if you PM a reminder, I won't open it when I see it's from pkjenson, it'll jog me when I visit, and I'll get it out to DBIS.

In response to the notion that I may be an enemy of the environment, because I have a problem with the underlying agenda(s) of many high ranking environmentalist(s(groups)), is a distinction my fellows here and elsewhere need to examine as the separate issues that they are. Not unlike, to whom you decide to give your charitable donations except this isn't just about the outcome of your financial outlay, this latter includes, societal futures. I object to many assumptions and how they are dressed up nice(by both sides of the aisle folks), but most decidedly to the desired, and likely outcomes.

Just a few examples of my conservation mindfulness:

For many years now I produce vermicompost, as I raise worms for just that purpose. All organic waste from our kitchen is turned to plant food or soil additive, including cereal boxes, newspapers, etc.

My neighbors give me their waste like coffee grounds, leaves, grass clippings etc. They get tomatoes or some such from the gardens throughout the season.

Among my dreams, could I clone myself, would be to collect restaurant waste and convert it to useful compost and critter food and then critters to healthy food; rather than see it merely dumped in land fill. Such collossal waste grieves me.

When David brought the SunBall to our attention, and perhaps you weren't present(sir/ma'am), I commented with great interest, applied to their mailing list and subsequently noted that companies latest update herein. It's an Oz outfit like my best (small)worm bins.

I have an USAToday article in my files from prolly 20 years ago detailing how the Universities of Chicago and Tel Aviv have figured out a new way to use fiber optics, applied to the solar collection process that left one with the impression that individual homes could then be outfitted to be energy self sufficient. That would eliminate a lot of power generation loss. Did you know that 50% of electricity transmission dissipates between the power plant and your home? I know we can do better, and for more than we do int'lly. It's two decades later, where has that wonderous announcement gone.

I support other means than our usual sewage disposal. There are many better means of sewage disposal which do not require these vast inefficient, and often polluting, municipal systems. Perhaps you are a youngish adult, but I've been through enough news cycles to know there are reoccurrant themes like the incurability of cancer, or the America war of poverty, or more especially to this point, famine relief corruption(including rotting on the docks and associated frauds) or disease and starvation in Africa never go away.

Reporting repeatedly for decades how the smartest most interested best financed people in the world have achieved no permanent remedy should teach us to change our ways. My angst and anger comes in because there are long term solutions that have numerous widespread advantages in the way of disease control, water purity, improvement and expansion agricultural production that could have been solved decades ago with less money; combined with basic public health training from the Peace Corps or the like; and some small weapons training with ammo soes they provide their vested interests some deterrence. How? Especially in the warmer elevations, the composting toilet can do great things. I digress.

Since I was a young man, I've had in mind my own great American novel idea, one major aspect of which, is meant to delve into this topic. Meaning, I believe we have the technology to maintain the energy levels necessary in order to sustain our present standard of living; AND, extend it to everyone worldwide, whether there is 6 or 20 billion of us on the planet.

Age has taught me, there are all sorts of vested interests, for any number of reasons(in no way limited to monetary greed), who are absolutely aghast, and more important resist at all costs any idea's, or new methods, that would lead to systems of decentralization(the more harmonious(earth friendly) solutions would surely bring to pass.

I submit that that very conflict is the real crux of the inactivity in so many sensible areas such as: national energy self sufficiently, border control, global warming, or you name it. In support, is the fact of the laws that get passed. Who they favor financially. And too, others dependencies on those dollars and their inability to disavow them tomorrow. (The dictionary has a term for situation.)

But no, I don't hate the earth, environmentalists(necessarily, there are some dispicable characters among that crowd that apparently reputable organizations do not disavow. Not unlike, many Moslems, or republicans and democratic who have blind eyes for their own. So yeah! I'm actually very fond of the earth and can't wait for some fresh swimming hole action. C'mon spring. It's snowing presently, lol.

peaceably
