Hey Andrea ~

I read this book and the follow-up while I was in college. I was on a bit of a spiritual quest for myself. I found the book to be more than a bit obvious in its intent. The intent is good, but the execution , I found to be very heavy handed and not terribly inspiring.

I would compare it to something like The Celestine Prophecies, good intent but nothing new. Contrived storytelling with a message. For a young reader it may have the benefit of offering insight into the self, but I personally was left without feeling I had gained anything I didn't already know. (putting any of it into practice is a whole other topic)

And for what its worth the film has been "on the shelf" for about a year I believe.

Plus do you really want your life lessons delivered by Nick Nolte?? Just a thought.

Let us know.

Roger
