Yeah, I don't think of Bush as Darth Vader...chimp-like maybe but you gotta admit we've never had a president in our lifetimes that seemed like such a goof.

Anyway, my point was not to get you to agree that we were conned into a war. I was really just saying that my guess would be that you could understand that if someone, like me for example, believed we were conned it would seem like a rather large crime. A crime that perhaps would seem to loom far larger than some other other crimes...to anyone that believed that.

I don't think we've got the kind of loons on this board that root for "their guys" to get away with crimes and only for the "other guys" to get caught. I certainly don't see myself in that catagory.

If you're looking for me to spend an equal amount of time writing stuff about Sandy Berger here...well then I am going to fall pretty short in that area...but it's not because Sandy is "one of my guys."

I talk about the Bush administration because I think they are horribly corrupt. I think if we allow that to continue unchecked we are asking for big big trouble. Simple as that really. It's not a "hate" thing, it's just about wanting to do what's best for us. It's about doing what I think is right.

On the quotes you sent me to, yeah, I think that's sad. All of those "leaders" and "candidates" from the Democratic side of the aisle either participated in the con, were conned, went along because it was politically the best thing for them, or their words have been taken out of context for political purposes and points...and that is not meant to excuse them for what they said or downplay any guilt on their part because they are "my guys", the fact is that's the way the political machine works in this country these days. Sucks but it's true.

If you read the two posts I made in this thread though you might consider the idea that they were conned as well because the intelligence presented to our Congress was "cooked" and that's really what this thread was all about in the first place.
