I did an experiment yesterday that turned out pretty good.

I picked up some banana peppers, long ones, and some ground Italian sausage. I split the peppers and cleaned out the seeds. I chopped some onion and then I patted out the sausage on the chopped onion and folded it into the sausauge. I repeated that step with some shredded motzerela with sundired tomatos. I added some oregano and pepper to the mix. Then I stuffed the peppers and put them in a baking dish with more shredded cheese on top, 350 for 15 minutes at which point I took it out and ladled some marinara sauce on it and back in it went for another 15 or 20.

Meanwhile, I put the reamining sausage and onion in a skillet and browned with fresh mushrooms. This is where I cheated a little, after all, I was only cookin' for moi, I added one of those skillet pasta dinners with broccoli and a garlic sauce.

I severed the pasta as a side with my stuffed pepper. Next time I think i will try a different kind of pepper.
