A sad note on Festival Express would be the uproar associated with the hippie movement demanding this tour be FREE. Unfortunately you get the same thing with Woodstock, Isle of Wight an most of the major festivals of the period. I went to something called August Jam at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the early 70s and 5,000 people crashed through a double fence that surrounded the facility. I was unaware until I got home and my parents had seen it on the news.
