He could enter in September and still win. I was sort of hoping for the Gore-makes-Oscar-history-by announcing, but the truth is, why announce early, if he is contemplating a run at all? (Which does seem unlikely at this moment, I admit.) But if he was thinking of running, the truth is, the longer Gore waits before announcing, the longer the focus of the chattering gnats like Limbaugh and O'Reilly is splintered, and the longer the Democratic primary challengers beat each other silly and tired. Gore could enter in September, have about 250 million raised in about two weeks, and sail happily and relatively unobstructed to a place where he could actually do something to get us out of this mess. I can't imagine Mitt Romney, or Rudy Giuliani, or Newt Gingrich (!) putting up much of a real challenge to him. The only person I could really see challenging him is Obama, cause he's fresh and shiny, and he is showing some signs of genuine sand.

Now if Gore could only work on sounding less like Thurston Howell III when the mics are on.
