i met a wheelchair athlete years ago on a run down by the minnesota river. he was telling me about the competitiveness of his sport and how some athletes will have their lifeless legs removed to lessen the weight they were carrying. apparently they had no hope that they'd ever use their limbs again. i imagine it would make getting around much easier to not have to carry the extra weight but if i were in that position i would be very reluctant to not hold out hope that i would be able to use them again some day.Kevin g
