In the book I am reading, Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver, she writes about the Voltarra Principle. Was wondering if you know about it and what you think about it. Volterra's principle: If two species (predator/prey, parasite/host) are destroyed at the same rate by some outside agency (such as a pesticide application), the prey will proportionately increase and the predators will proportionately decrease.http://www.cnr.berkeley.edu/biocon/BC%20Class%20Notes/73-77%20Predator%20Models.pdf
