I've accumulated four CDs put out under the series, "Television's Greatest Hits". And no, I'm not talking Tom Verlaine's late, great band here. These snappy 60-second songs have been a guilty pleasure for me. My wife and I especially enjoy sharing these gems from our youth with our 11-year old. Great TV themes seem to imprint themselves into our DNA. Whether it's morning cartoons (Speed Racer), Sit-Coms (MASH, Barney Miller, The Odd Couple, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore), Prime Time Drama (Hawaii Five-O, Rockford Files), or Afternoon Adventure (Rat Patrol, The Wild, Wild West), there's some memorable stuff that has been composed. Of course, there's been some utter crap as well (Three's Company, Love American Style), but by and large, I feel all warm and fuzzy when hearing this stuff.

One of my faves, The Banana Splits theme, sounds an awful lot like Bob Marley's Buffalo Soldier. Was Bob a wee little Rastafarian listening to that show during the 60's?

Please give us more details, David, as this new venture might be fascinating. And who knows what the residuals will be.
