Well, I guess the thing was the Band didn't want to quit...hell Rick and Levon could not stop making music...they lived it and breathed it. Robbie wanted out and so when you watch it and he's on screen (right from the beginning when he tells Scorsese he wants to answer a question again-which Marty left in) it seems he's staging everything and it's all his show but...

thank God for Mr. Robertson's ego because it turned out one fine fucking film which likely would not have existed without it. So I'll drink to Robbie's ego any day. I've got nothing against the man.

The oddest thing about Robbie I've heard was that stuff about him living on Bill Gates' boat...what was up with that? Is that true? If that's what he's been up to I think he should get off the damn boat strap on a guitar and turn up at Levon's some Saturday night unannounced...that would be a real rock 'n' roll thing to do...if there's any of that left in him.
