Socially, people are the same as ever.  Very accomodating and pleasant.  This could be a great country with little more personal responsibility and less autocratic/more accountable government. 

That can be said for a lot of countries since the dawn of monetary civilization.  But for the little tin buggerer & it’s relationship to history’s elitist breeding habits [chuckle/sigh], maybe we’d have been alright.  Example; in something I read the other night…it boiled down to early China would have been a mostly chill & self-contained lot had another (getting their noses in other people’s business sort of aristocratic) country not whacked-out their Confucian leadership on the pipe.  So if it weren’t for…oh…say…some mealy-eyed & canker blossomed whigs with elitist notions of grandiosity, good ol’ Tibet’d probably still be good ol’ Tibet & the Dalai Llama’d be sleeping in perfect peace near the foot of the Himalayas.  Yes, I’m way oversimplifying everything…but I think the point holds some water, ...pisswater perhaps.... :o)
